The customer deck: a PPTX master template

The PowerPoint export grows from three generic slide shapes into a full master template — cover, agenda, executive summary, insight, recommendation, risk, quote, voices, stats, chart, comparison, timeline and closing — authored once in the design system, previewable slide by slide, and rendered as native, editable shapes.

The deck a research lead forwards to their sponsor is the surface where information design matters most — and until now every report flattened into "heading + bullets" slides. This release treats the deck as a design-system citizen: one master template defines the slide vocabulary a synthesis actually needs, and the same source of truth feeds the docs previews and the renderer, so what you browse is exactly what exports.

A slide taxonomy that matches the findings

  • Insight, recommendation and risk slides state one finding as a headline with evidence bullets and an optional native chart — the same tones as the report’s callout cards.
  • Voices brings the per-persona panel onto a slide: sentiment chips and each persona’s key argument at a glance.
  • Cover, agenda, section dividers, executive summary, quote, KPI stats, full-width chart, two-column comparison, next-steps timeline and a closing slide complete the deck arc.
  • Everything stays native and editable in PowerPoint — shapes and real charts, never screenshots.

The brand travels with the findings

Decks now carry the Sonaloop brand layer: the cover opens with the logo and a painterly canvas band, full-bleed canvas sections divide chapters with a quiet white title card, a pillars layout presents capabilities as icon-led columns from the curated hi-fi icon set, and the closing slide signs off with the mark. Because PPTX can’t embed SVG, icons, logos and canvases are rasterized once at design time and vendored alongside the template — the export stays a single self-contained file.

See every slide before you export

The design docs gain a dedicated Deck section: the whole master template rendered live with a placeholder study, one page per layout with its slide model. In the core, `sonaloop template-deck` renders the same placeholder deck to a real .pptx — open it and it matches the docs slide for slide. Report exports now open with a cover and agenda and end with a methodology closing slide.

Improvements

Exports

Synthesis decks open with a branded cover and a contents slide (3+ sections) and close with a methodology sign-off.

Exports

Image slides paint a quiet placeholder panel when a figure file is missing instead of an empty slide.

Design system

Deck palette and type scale derive from the design tokens; the vendored template is drift-guarded like icons and charts.

Design system

Two new layouts — canvas section dividers and icon-led pillars — plus logo and canvas placement on cover and closing, previewable in the docs Deck section like every other slide.

Exports

Canvas art keeps its aspect ratio on slides (background-cover cropping), never stretched.

Exports

Two more evidence layouts: a paired-charts slide and a native, fully editable table with header row and zebra body.

Design system

The deck logo is the canonical lockup — the same mark the website and app sidebar render — and recommendation slides demonstrate the chart slot.

Fixes

Exports

A project synthesis without report sections now exports its analytic deck (big picture, positioning, key problems, recommendations) instead of an empty cover-and-closing shell — and synthesis decks carry the brand layer.
