Open Core gives you the research engine: councils, syntheses, hypotheses, surveys and reports you own locally. Cloud is the natural upgrade when those artifacts need public links, live collection, scheduled runs, team access or delivery into the tools your company already uses.

Do I need an API key?
No. Only the optional extras — avatars and semantic recall — use one.
Does my data leave my machine?
Never on Open Core — personas, councils and syntheses all live on your machine.
